Privacy Policy

ShashaAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the ShashaAI Android application collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. Please read it carefully before using the app.

1. Information We Collect

ShashaAI collects only the minimum data necessary to function:

• Voice Audio: When you start a call, the app captures microphone audio in real time and streams it to Google's Gemini Live API for processing. This audio is not stored by ShashaAI on your device or on any server we control.
• Your API Key: The Google AI Studio API key you enter is stored locally on your device using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences system. It never leaves your device and is never sent to ShashaAI servers.
• Conversation Summary: After each call, a brief text summary (approximately 3–5 sentences) of the conversation is generated and saved locally on your device in a private SQLite database. This is used to give the AI context in future calls. This data remains on your device and is never uploaded.
• Anonymous Session Analytics: When a call ends, the app sends a small anonymous payload to a Cloudflare serverless worker. This payload contains: (a) an anonymous device hash derived from a SHA-256 hash of a non-reversible system identifier — it cannot be used to identify you personally; (b) the duration of the call in seconds; (c) the call completion status; and (d) a timestamp. No audio, no name, no location, no personal identifiers are included.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Voice audio is used solely to generate a real-time AI response via Google Gemini. It is not used for any other purpose by ShashaAI.
• Conversation summaries are used exclusively to personalise your experience across calls — so the AI remembers context from previous conversations.
• Anonymous analytics are used by the developer to monitor app usage patterns (e.g., average call length, number of calls per day) for the sole purpose of improving the product.

3. Third-Party Services

ShashaAI relies on the following third-party services. Their respective privacy policies govern how they handle data passed to them:

• Google Gemini API (Google LLC): Receives your voice audio for real-time AI processing. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc.): Receives the anonymous analytics payload described above. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

ShashaAI does not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.

4. Microphone Permission

ShashaAI requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission. This permission is used exclusively to capture your voice during AI calls. The microphone is active only while a call is in progress. The app does not access the microphone at any other time.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your API key is stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences, which encrypts data at rest using AES-256.
• Conversation summaries are stored in a local SQLite database on your device, inaccessible to other apps.
• No personal data is stored on any server controlled by ShashaAI.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All locally stored data (API key, conversation summaries) is deleted immediately when you uninstall the app. You can also clear all stored data at any time from within the app's settings screen. We have no server-side data to delete on your behalf, since none is stored by us.

7. Children's Privacy

ShashaAI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the ShashaAI application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

ShashaAI is a voice assistant Android application that enables real-time, natural-language voice conversations powered by the Google Gemini API. The app is provided as-is and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Your API Key & Responsibility

ShashaAI requires you to supply your own Google AI Studio API key. By entering your key, you acknowledge:

• You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid API key.
• All API usage charges incurred by your key are your sole responsibility. ShashaAI has no visibility into your billing or usage limits.
• You must not share your API key with others or use an API key you are not authorised to use.
• If your API key is compromised, it is your responsibility to revoke and replace it via the Google AI Studio console.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ShashaAI to:

• Generate, transmit, or store content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the application.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security-related features of the app.
• Use the app in violation of Google's own Terms of Service or Gemini API usage policies.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

ShashaAI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.
• AI-generated responses will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for any specific purpose.
• The app will be compatible with all Android devices or OS versions.

AI responses are generated by Google Gemini and are not reviewed or endorsed by ShashaAI. You should not rely on AI-generated responses for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShashaAI and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of these Terms shall not exceed zero, given that ShashaAI is a free application.

6. Third-Party Services

The app interacts with third-party services including Google Gemini and Cloudflare. ShashaAI is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of these services. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

7. Modifications to the App or Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
